Tidewater 2100 BayMax

This Tidewater 2100 BayMax is one sweet little bay hotrod that will get you back on the grass flats no problem and at the same time is stable enough to run out in the gulf for a day of good wreck fishing. There is a nice casting platform out front that was well thought out. It is recessed just a bit down in the bow so you can put a foot against the step and really dig in to fight the big fish. Pop the cushions back on and you have a slick little center console that is good for the whole family.

There is a hefty 200 Yamaha 4 stroke out back to make sure you can get a couple of people up on skis without even straining a bolt and the dive platform has a swing down ladder that makes getting in and out a breeze for even the most tired of skiers. This is an excellent to machine for Tubes, Wakeboards and all sorts of other water toys, with enough beef to get the air tube up in the air a good ways.  She makes for an excellent family fun machine

But lets get back to fishing.... This boat was made for it - there is a huge livewell in the back and another at the front of the console. The one in front of the console is made to where it is easy to get your bait out without knocking the overflow tube out like in a lot of other boats. The rear Livewell is integral with the rear casting platform (which while not as roomy as the front is still pretty durn nice) and easy to get to. There is enough room in the rear livewell for a whole weekends worth of shrimp or pinfish and both livewells are well thought out enough that even with 25 dozen shrimp in the rear livewell of one of these boats this author still had 8 dozen alive at the end of the day and we only had 5 or 6 die all day - I should mention it was in the mid 90's that day too. Oh yeah and this would be an excellent time to mention that that huge cooler under the seat holds a lot of cans of beverages and plenty of ice. Thing is huge and roomy enough for an entire weekends beer! Even on a hot day like it was the cooler on the boat we tried out still had about 1/2 its ice left in it when we ran in that night. Them cold drinks make a hot day go a lot better dontcha know.

Getting this boat in the skinny water for bait was not a problem at all, she will get in places that are previously thought of as strictly for skiffs and flats boats. Even though she is a bay boat by design, she has no problem wandering the grass flats and she is stable enough that balancing her out is only an afterthought reserved for the shallowest of water Her Floatation is excellent, we were in 1ft of water with one of these and did not balance out like you would have to with a skiff, just trimmed up the engine and putted on in - never scraped once, not even close.  The built in tackle trays are a good thing too, you can pop your trays in in the morning, loaded with a whole arsenal of tackle that rivals what it would take a couple of good sized tackle boxes to hold. At the same time there are built in rod holders and there are pole holders all over this boat - pop in 4 or 6 lines and go trolling your favorite wrecks and you still have room for 6 more poles in the sides of the console for when you are using light ones on the way in at the inlets that night. Altogether there are pole holders for 14 poles (6 in reserve on the sides of the console) and storage for another 3 heavy poles built into the side of the boat.

Just want to get away from the family for a weekend or take them with you? Not a problem the forward fighting deck covers not just a roomy anchor locker but there are 2 good sized dry storage boxes and a forward compartment that can hold tents, sleeping bags and all the gear you need for a weekend of Island camping and the compartments are again thought out well and will keep your gear dry! If it is wandering the 10,000 Islands or the undisturbed beaches North up in the panhandle you want, this is the boat for you. Plenty of range from that hefty Yamaha and she aint going to kill you at the pumps either - in fact the one this author ran out was still stock and was pushing 10mpg at around 30-35mph. This boat for sale here has been propped in By Marine Dynamics and tuned to where it should do a bit better than that. Wanna just get home from a weekends worth of fishing? Not a problem, she can get you up to around 60 or so without breaking a sweat and still wont kill you at the pumps.

In a nutshell, this is one well thought out boat that was built to fish but makes a good family fun boat as well as being one heck of a nice little bay hotrod too!
